G’day,
Michael Silvester here…and let me show you a simple mathematical way to figure out if you have a good or bad list.
Email Marketing – (list size x relationship) = $$$
It really is THAT simple. Have a great relationship with your list and grow it every day and the dollars will start to flow alot more for you.
Have you ever heard the saying, “The money is in the list?” Well, if you have, then you probably wonder what exactly it means. In short, it just means that your email list subscribers are potential customers, and if you know how to market to them correctly then you can turn them into paying customers. If you build a good relationship with your subscribers, then they will buy from you over and over again, so of course, that means more money.
When you first start email marketing, one thing to keep in mind is that you don’t want to build a list just for selling to your subscribers. You need to give them something of value first and build some rapport with them. Just think for a second. Do you like getting bombarded with emails telling you that you need this or that you should buy that every other day of the week?
Of course you don’t, and you’re subscribers won’t like or appreciate it if you do that to them either. Always remember that people subscribe to your list for a reason. It might be to get a free product, it might be to learn more about you and your products, or it may be for information in general. But, they want “something” that you promised them, so be sure to deliver.
If you don’t, you’ll lose your subscribers that might have been buyers, so in the end, you’ll lose money.
Now, if you’ve figured out what to offer to your list, you need to make sure it’s worth their time. Is it something that you would want? If not, then you might want to go back to the drawing board. Giving away crappy products is the quickest way to earn “zero dollars” so please avoid this mistake at all costs. You’ll basically give yourself a bad name before you ever get to make a single sale, unless of course you have one of those casual buyers who can’t help but to buy what you sell them.
Don’t count on it though; there aren’t many of these types of people around. In fact, I’m almost willing to bet that they’re near extinction.
As a rule, you should always try to put yourself in the shoes of your target market. By doing so, you’ll know what your subscribers want and you’ll be able to give them what they need. Deliver and over deliver to your list subscribers, and they will surely become customers. Another thing is that you should always be building your list. The bigger your list, the more people you reach, and the more money you have the potential to make. If you have a good relationship with your list, which is one of the main things you should strive for, then the money will come.
Sending out just a single promotional email once a month to your list could bring in hundreds or even thousands of dollars in sales. You know why? It’s because you’ve proven to your list that you can be trusted, and you’ve constantly provided them with valuable products and useful information absolutely free. Most people on your list will be so pleased with your generosity that they will almost feel an obligation to buy from you as a means of repayment for you taking such good care of them.
So what do you think about that?
Take Care,
Michael Silvester
